This wine is a BIODYNAMIC Single Vineyard wine from the Petrichor Estate. An expression of site - this wine is a blend of 6 clones of Syrah (Entav 470, Bests, Wendouree, 1127, R6W & 2626).

Handpicked at optimum fruit sugar/acid balance for each clone, this wine was fermented wild over 18 days. All fruit was de-stemmed retaining 20% whole bunches.

Basket pressed to older French oak barrels (300L) and allowed to undergo MLF and mature in barrel for 12 months on fine lees.

Gravity racked to tank for four months, then gravity fed hand bottling. Diam cork and wax seal.

Minimal Sulphur addition. No fining. No filtration.

TASTING NOTE:

Colour: Vibrant Ruby/Violet, clear

Nose: The wine shows depth and character with bright red fruits of cranberry, raspberry, violets, pepper, rose petal & cardamon spice on the nose.

Palate: Palate is vibrant and driven. Red fruits, olive, spices, cured meats & graphite. Bright acid and fine silky tannins. Long persistent finish.

This wine is delicate, driven and a pure representation of our site here at Petrichor. Power, length and balance on the palate. Layered and complex, this textural wine is a wonderful pairing for complex dishes. This wine has the ability to age and is a medium/long-term cellar proposition.
